Vintage Hand-Carved Wood Bust – Folk Art Outsider Primitive Americans Sculpture. A striking & soulful piece of Americana. This vintage hand-carved wooden bust embodies the raw spirit of folk & outsider art. Likely crafted in the mid-20th century. Features a stylized human head carved from multiple joined sections of solid wood, w/expressive facial features and deeply textured hair.Constructed using 3 vertical laminated wood sections, joined and then hand-carved. A technique used in folk workshops to create larger carving blanks from available materials.Several visible nails are present in the back of the head. Possibly used to secure the outer sections or reinforce the carved hair texture. These exposed elements, along with age-related cracks & tool marks, enhance the authentic, unrefined charm. • Height: Approx. 15”- width 11” • Dark stain or varnish w/a slightly glossy sheen • 1950s–1970s • Good vintage condition w/surface cracks, patina, and signs of age.
