Commanche to Tower Line. Edison Oil Field was discovered in 1928. This map is a small section of the total 8,000-acre productive area. Standard Oil, Richfield, Shell, and Mobil once all had holdings there. As of 2008, there were over 40 companies with holdings, one of the most in the state.
