Vintage 1942 Mercury Dime Sterling Silver Tie Tack. Acquired from a private estate collection, this pin features a genuine 1940s World War II era coin set in a solid sterling silver bezel. The winged cap worn by Lady Liberty on the obverse caused newspapers to mistake her for the Roman god, Mercury, hence the name Mercury dime. 0.7” diameter. Excellent pre-owned condition with natural patina on coin commensurate with age.
