The Fine Art of Punning by Caesar Davis (Harold Thayer Davis), Antique 1916 Book. Illustrator: Fred H. Shantz, Apex Book Co., Colorado Springs, Colorado. Untested. Sold as-is.Hardcover bright burgundy cloth boards with white letters and decorations blind stamped to upper front board and spine. The spine shows some sun fading but text is readable with only slight folding to back strip. Boards are in very good condition with no edge wear an only a small round blemish to the front board. Corners are all sharp with no bumping and only the smallest dot of wear at the very tips. Spine is straight and firm, with no cracking to the endpapers. Text block is solid with all pages firmly attached. Light age tanning throughout. The front free endpaper is signed “Compliments of Caesar Davis” and with a previous owner name and “Colorado College” written below. All interior pages are otherwise clean with no tears, cracks, or other previous owner marks. 158 pages. Dimensions: H – 7” W – 4-3/4”
