Vintage Los Castillo pre-eagle Taxco, Mexico Sterling Silver "Peasant Man" Pin or Brooch. This piece is numbered as design 428 on the backside. There is a slight dip in the man's sombrero, creases in his shirt & pants, while wearing a Tilmatli (Tilma apron) while wearing what appears to be an open basket - or Tussie Mussie - on this back that has some sort of black beads. This piece is most likely from the 1940s and marked on the backside "Los Castillos/Taxco/ Sterling/ Mexico/ 428". This pin measures about 2 5/8" tall and 1 1/4" wide at its widest part, & weighs 20.4 grams. This pin has patina/tarnishing, some spots and a curve to the stick pin.
