Altemus' Wee Books for Wee Folks, 'The Story of Little Black Sambo'. Believed to be circa 1918-1921. Sold AS-IS due to condition.Early edition hardcover from Henry Altemus Company, Philadelphia. Classic story by Harriet Bannerman (author uncredited due to copyright lapse). Color illustrated throughout. Light gray hardcover with red cloth spine and a full-color glossy illustration on the front cover.Book Condition: See photos. The spine is loose from age. Some pages are missing:- First page is No. 5, 'The Preface' (correct, as there are 4 unnumbered pages before page 5).- Pages 7-10 appear to be missing (goes from page 6 to page 11).- At page 22, jumps to page 27.- Pages 55-58 are present but not connected to the spine.- Book ends at page 63, followed by 4 pages of ads. No tears or other damage. Original owner 'Bunny' wrote name on inside back cover.
